2 MORE DAYS! Oh yah. I forgot to mention. We upgraded to a rented apartment! KOOL! It has TV!

Last day of school officially before flying off on monday. Really really excited! Something bad happened today. It was out of nothing. I still can't believe she could actually do that. Anyway, melissa was sick and did not come to school. Haha. Quietness.

We did senior band pieces today and i made this!A Blue Tac trumpet. Nice right? Haha. We worked on Gondwana and Arsenal. Arsenal is damn slow. GAH!! Pulse! Anyway, Mr tan said something i think he shouldn't... " MTDC members are excused today and tomorrow. " Lol. You could hear " YAY "s all around the band room. Obviously, i stayed behind, together with jia yi, candice and bryan. The band was pathetic today. One flute!? But sounded ok. Early dismissal and homed!

Finally! A free day off from band! Anyway, I spent my day on an incredible and dangerous journey to help king ping ping to fix his flute of peace in the castle of windworks!! Haha. Just joking. We took a very long rail trip to Aljunied then to windworks to fix juNe ping's flute. It had a lag key. That's why. Eric and amanda tagged along. And we met a new friend! K-I-M-B-E-R-L-Y! Haha. I like meeting new people!

She was testing out mouthpieces when we came in. She immediately stopped lah. Like very pai seh like that. Anyway, we started talking after a slight push from Mr Tan's PA. Her name was Kimberly Cecilia Ho and she hails from Chij TPY. Currently a secondary four. Her clarinet's name is Alfred and he is 2 years old. Haha. So much information! That makes me wonder. Why do clarinetists like to name their instruments? And are they all very " energetic " ? Tsk.

Anyway, we tried many many instruments! KOOL!Nice right?

I'm really really excited right now. 4 more days! I keep imagining my time in Australia! Gah!! Oh! And I chanced upon this really good korean elementary school's wind ensemble! The trumpeter is a god~!! Judge for yourself!

It suddenly crossed my mind... What if i don't like her at all? Maybe i was admiring her cheerfulness and liveliness? Then this whole thing would just go back to square one. That's the very frustrating part of love. It's not certain. DAMN!

I like talking to her! But she doesn't seem interested... : (

I always laugh at the computer screen whenever she types something funny out.

GAH! Utterly disappointed today : ( There was a gundam exhibition at North Point recently. My parents promised to get me something there. But when i asked them yesterday, they said : tomorrow lah. Then today, the exhibit was gone already. They were like. Oh. Like what the hell lah. OMG. I'm behaving like a little spoiled child. O.o

Anyway, today was ok. School whizzed by after a few naps and playing with Lizzy, that's my twisty. Haha. I make no sense to you guys. It's the furry worm thingy. Anyway, I hate mondays! Bag so heavy : (

Banded! : ) Happy happy happy! Lips were really supple. BETTER BE LIKE THAT IN TASMANIA! Solo should not slow down! NO! CAN'T! Tone was also very nice and full today! Haha. Overall, the band sounded quite nice. I guess today was one of the nicest Bush Dance we achieved.

Oh, anyway, it suddenly crossed my mind that... Next week today, We would have arrived in Hobart, Tasmania already. Woah! Really Excited!!! Time pass quickly!

New acquaintances! Today, ( yesterday rather ) we had a band exchange with xin min. Reported to school at 10 and we did warm ups and went through pieces. The morning was cold. So was in the afternoon. Actually, recently, everyday is cold. A change! Finally.

Lunched. I talked to some people whom i seldom talk to. We talked about lime green luggages and many more. juNe Ping went for dental and came back with a Disney umbrella and SUBWAY~! God. Haven't have that in a long time.

We shifted everything down to the hall where the exchange was going to take place. I suddenly realized that hao lun is actually very weak. Physically : D

While tuning up in the hall, Xin min walked in. Heheh. First person i saw was a trumpeter! YAY! Grr... Tuning was really out for me today. Don't do this to me with 8 more days left. God bless. First to perform was the symphonic band, which consists of secondary 2s and 3s. Basically, everything was alright... Until symphonic episode. How ironic. Symphonic band can't play symphonic episode. Ok... That was... err... Haha.

Xin min was up next and they did March Blue Sky and Sunshine. At a really slow pace. It was ok. Nice section tone. They sounded together. No one sticking out or hiding. And best thing is, they blended with the band. NICE! After which, is the set piece for the competition they are going to on 3 april. Kinda ok. Although a bit screwed. GANBATTE! Flight! Adventure in the Sky, written by Mr Benjamin Yeo for MTDC. : ) They did quite well. Could use as a reference. Did anyone record? In anyway, Xin min was really good! Good luck for your competition! Do well!

Wind ensemble. AHH~!! Die. We did Arsenal, which sounded like a lump of sound according to mr tan. AHH!! 8 more days. I just have to keep reminding myself... Dumb! Shenandoah was... Ok. Ahh!! So many parts never come in properly. Bush Dance. The killer. Beginning was one of the better ones but not the best. We did better before. My solo was ok in the beginning phase until I was settled and rushed abit. The rest was practically ok. Part S was better. By a lot. Gondwana was ok. Except no strength already.

So, to wrap it all up, the exchange was... ok : ) We packed up and had interaction time with our respective xin min sections. We took a very long time before we made contact with them. Their other conductor asked me how i could play the running notes... I didn't know what to say... Just crapped. The truth is, I didn't look at that part as a running part. More of melody. Hope it will help. When we finally did communicate, they had to leave. Manage to learn their names. Secondary 2s: Tricia, Wan Rong, Jia Jia. Secondary 3s: Lin Rei, Hui xing. Secondary 4s... I only know albert and yu feng... Nice to meet you guys! Their secondary 2s are like ours. One short, one middle height and one tall.

After the whole thing, I had a talk with " Soloist ". Got to know her better in terms of how she thought and all. I can tell she is damn stressed. Jiayous! Hang in there!

Yay~! Class 33 FTW~! Lol. Loving my class now. I guess... Haha. Finally went for class painting. The whole painting is very nice already! Special thanks to the main painters, namely Shi Xian, Hannah, Dione and Claire! And all those who helped out like Joshuel, Ai Ling, Anila, Zheng Di, Valerie, Delia and Mei ping. ( These are all those who came today. But also thanks to those whose effort I missed )

The class was damn concentrated. Then slowly, like all kids, fun had the better of us. Valerie started painting using her hands and Ai ling, Delia and I followed. After that, I was touching up when out of no where, a hand touched my leg. At first, I thought nothing of it lah. Then i turned around. It was Valerie. She painted my leg. Then another. Added a face and body. Damn. Ai ling also followed because she wants to take revenge on me for painting on her. In the end, I had to bring to hand mans to lunch.

And something EPIC happened before lunch. Valerie went into a frenzy of painting random people. So, she and Delia decided to paint me. I ran for it and wen kang took my place. When Valerie saw me hiding, she immediately came after me. I tried to run again but she caught up. ( Duh. Netball leh. ) In between that half minute, I was having so much fun running, I crashed into a pillar. But it didn't hurt! I felt damn stupid. Haha. Laughed it off.

After lunch, mei ping left and Daniel got angry because of something. Gonna spare you the details. Valerie and i decided black and white paint was running out, so we go buy. First time. I was pouring. By the time we got back, 3.20pm already. Many people started leaving. The wall is like 78% done. Better finish by tomorrow. Thank you Ai Ling, Claire, Hannah and Dione for staying until so late.

School Bells Ring Again, Lonely Swings Again

HI HI! Back from band camp. Finally. Damn tired. Especially my lips. Argh! Tone gone. So blast now.

Day one.
We checked into our bunks and went back for Brass Sectionals! Ah!! All the tables were taken away. Left chairs, so I made use of them since no one wants to use them anyway. Chairs FTW!! But in the end backache sia. All because of people like Owen and Eric. 8 and 9 tables respectively. WTF?

Beginning, we had lots of rest. I saw hope that my lips would not get strained. We joked around and mr tan was alright. We sight read through Eiger and Lion City Festival before finally going for lunch. Kool!

LUNCH IN BAND CAMP TOTALLY SUCKS! Opps... Sorry. MTDC FOOD ROCKS! Best thing, it's free. LOVE MTDC TTM. Wow. Loads of short forms in this post.

Senior band.

Showering was cool! I wouldn't say cool... Maybe interesting. Because we showered with girls. Or rather, they with us. Don't anyhow think little children. There were separate cubicles. They said the girls' toilet was full, thus the bathing in boy's toilet incident. Zhen yee was the first and thus dubbed brave by the rest. Haha.

Dinner was as bad as lunch. Sorry.

We had section talk. ' Our clients' information is confidential. ' Lol. And tutoring with Mr tan. We worked on junior pieces. Junior's were generally ok. Seeing lots of improvement le. GREAT : ) 12 more days. Now left senior band pieces. * Cries at Bush Dance solo *

Then we headed back to band room to rehearse Eiger and Lion City! Uber Nice! Although we sight reading.

Day two.
The whole morning, was dedicated to Bendemeer primary school band. They were adorable. So, it doesn't matter. Haha. Lips were already tired but i decided to play for the primary school kids. Do well! By the time they left, my tone was already blasty and non-central.

We had junior band after they left and called it night after the Tasmania trip briefing and one more session of senior band.

Day three.
Woke up and did senior band followed by lunch and junior band. Tiring! We washed our instruments and home sweet home! CLEAN! And i talked to some people whom I've never talked to this band camp. Cool!

Ok. Enough fooling around. I'm kinda looking forward to band camp. Except for its crazy practice schedule. But it's necessary lah. Need to improve! I'm setting a higher playing standard for band camp! Hope I achieve it lah. And gotta stop being so easily satisfied! Stop lying to yourself boy! Look! I'm even talking to myself.

I'm gonna miss her this holiday : ( But i will see her again on Thursday! Looking forward. And class painting. HANNAH! I'm counting on you and joshuel! Ganbatte!

The extract above is from the essay I'm writing for the commonwealth essay competition. Kool. Haha. Anyway, yesterday was fund fiesta cum scrabble mania. Kinda bo liao cause people were busy doing their own things, but everything turned out quite ok. I was late for school and I was dumb enough to think I would get booked. My dad drove like super fast.

After the scrabble, was the carnival. Sian. Badge not done, people not paying money. I bought this stress ball thingy for $2. Support ying ying. I did not manage to go 4A's haunted house. Ps! Damn queue. So long. One point of time, min hui, melissa and I were throwing airplanes down the 4th level. Fun!

We managed to start a little of the class painting today. Jiayou guys! We were the slowest to paint lah. Everybody paint le then we paint. Anyway, I saw rachel and finally talked to her. After 3 years. She damn funny.

We had senior wind ensemble and it rocked! Well, not all lah. But mostly. After which, i caught a movie with trumpet batch mates and jun ping and bryan. A bit sian. But laughed quite alot! Haha. Joke. End of the day.

School was fun today. Chinese test. Bound to fail T_T Had band. Senior band pieces! Yay! Haha. Nah. Today wasn't good. Solo. ( Happy and playful! ) I can't believe I can't actually do that. I originally already so playful lah. Why can't do that on my trumpet? Sigh. Bush dance and Gondwana again. Could play S le. But rush. K's solo was also much better. Was actually expecting arsenal and Shenandoah. Haha.

Was supposed to go haunted house. But no time : ( Sorry 4A. Mtdc! Was late because we were released late. The band was waiting for us. Ps. We did March Bou Shu and Light Cavalry. Yah! We used cornets, Bo geng, jie qi and i. Hard to reach high notes! Then home le. I went home myself. YAY : D

Tomorrow is Fund fiesta. OMG! I can still remember what i did in 2008's fund fiesta. Time passed so fast!

Hello! Bush dance solo really getting better and better already! Happy! ( No! No complacency! ) ( And no anila, its not a dance. Haha. ) We had a little section talk in the morning before school started. I was late =X

It was kinda awkward, but at least some things are cleared between us. Chionged my Cirque Du Freak and finished it. Maths test is a should be. ( Should be pass ) Reading Vampire's assistant.

Tomorrow is T-U-E-S-D-A-Y! I love Tuesdays! Because... Because... Because, it's super slacky! Pe, English, recess, history and home! But i don't go home early these days, all because i have band and slack around before going home. So, Pe, English, recess, history, band! Haha.

Finally met up with the oldies. Jordon disappointed me! He did not make it. But never mind. So, there were jia wei, yi hui, lyn, joel lee, leslie, er yao and xue qun. Changed alot. Feel so short.

We talked about the good old times and they played around with poker cards and uno cards. Haha. There were two other teachers too. All came when we graduated. They made sushi. Nice!

Then we had to go le. Sigh. So many things left unsaid. Yi hui, joel, lyn and i headed to bishan where i bought Cirque Du Freak set. It was on discount, so...

Bought two studio ghibli studio dvds too. My Neighbour Totoro and Laputa, Castle in the Sky. Nice! Sudden craze for it.

Also had a new hair cut! Sh*t. So ugly.

Why do you feel so offended if you know you tried your best? Maybe subconsciously you might be thinking you did not do your best? But i'm sure you know best. Not trying to imply anything. I'm sure i do things wrongly at some point of time, but don't tell me you deny that your batch is not working hard enough? You say you beginning to hate my batch. But have you thought why i even bothered typed this out? It's because our sl is always "busy" and don't have time to teach you. Like someone mentioned, so what if one person puts in his/her best? It would not help is his/her peers are not thinking the same. It's a joint effort. Keep hanging on.

I suck! Totally. Haha. Self Pwn. Anyway, today band was not good for me. My lips were strained. Limited vibration. Sh*t! Sigh... Did junior band... Skip skip skip...

MTDC. Tone sucked, too restless, keep getting wrong notes. Wtf went wrong today? Even Geraldine feels this way. GRR!

In full band, Bo geng was featured through the Thro the Rye in Swing solo. Everybody looking up to him now. But we know. Haha. Nice fake at the back! ( Not Jealous and trying to make him look bad. )

That's practically my whole day. Tomorrow, I will have tuition before going to 邱老师's house. Looking foward to my old buddies, especially jia wei and jordon! Ciao.

Why is everybody currently in love?

HI HI! Haha. Why am I so high? Maybe because today, my Bush Dance improved? But there is still 9.99 x (10)999 (km)2 area of improvement. Jiayous! Now to conquer Shenandoah and Arsenal!

Today, mr tan mentioned about practicing on the wrong things for 10 hours is equivalent to 0 hours of good practice. He also talked about some things which i mentioned in the previous blog post. Kinda true lor.

Anyway, today i had a completely new view of the band room. We were in the horns' area. Because mr tan mentioned us to move forward. Totally a new world. You can hear Sebastian and Benjamin talking, Alicia and xiao tong fingering the pieces. All of which you can't hear when I was sitting back at our original position. Also, the band sounds different. New theory learnt. The band room is deceptive. Haha.

Bush Dance, solo improved le. But i can't be complacent. Work HARDER! Bush Dance Part one, Dubbed by mr tan is really good le! Thanks to Mr Ramu, or prof Ramu as i call him. Part two left. The targets for this week is Arsenal and Shenandoah.

Tomorrow, Junior band. Sigh. I really don't feel like playing, with my juniors attitude.

Woah. Haven't been blogging for long post already. This is for juNe ping. Since he already started blogging again. I think it's because her.

AROUND THE WORLD!

Haha. Ok. So my life currently is full of one thing. I guess. Band! I seriously need to improve.

Bush Dance, Arsenal... All of these songs, can be easily played. But can it be performed? Trying to perform a piece ( or 8 pieces for my batch for that matter ), can actually be achieved. But why are we not progressing? Let's think about it. 25 more days before we fly, and some of us don't even know basic things such as tonguing and notes. How can this be?

Notes are secondary. Musicality is primary! Why can't the juniors feel that? They just play play and play. No feelings? Are they that emotionless? Or are they just thinking that performing is lame just like today and yesterday? You guys have to grow up and be more mature. Be disciplined and responsible by simply by knowing your notes and listening.

And you guys seriously think playing through and through helps? You could have just taken the time to improve your tone through long tones or lip flexibility through lip slurs. They don't take long to do. And I don't understand why you guys don't feel the urge to want to improve and perform? You think 25 days is a long time huh?

Not taking seniors words seriously. Turning a deaf ear to them? By traditions, this is punishable. But times have changed and the seniors just don't want to scold you if not necessary. Make everybody happy. Why are you taking their kindness for granted?

Yes. You can have fun sometimes. But when it's time to be serious, please do! Often joking around with your seniors outside doesn't mean that they are also joking around in practice. Some of you still talk back to your seniors! Is that basic respect? It works in a mutual relation. You respect the seniors, they do the same to you.

And please, is the stamina or endurance of your lips really that low? Play a few times only and you are tired. Yes, playing it many times may be tiring, but just take a short break. How does taking breaks of 30 mins and talking in between help you relax your lips? Hmm?

Stop thinking that if you can play the piece means you are done with it. What about details? Playing loud or soft. Short or long. These are the minor details which are important as they add colour to the songs. Like i said earlier, playing something over and over again does not help you AT ALL!

Please. Try and cooperate with your seniors and move towards greater standards together. Please. Or one day, someone is bound to flare up because of your attitude.Trumpets!
