Haha. Ok. So my life currently is full of one thing. I guess. Band! I seriously need to improve.

Bush Dance, Arsenal... All of these songs, can be easily played. But can it be performed? Trying to perform a piece ( or 8 pieces for my batch for that matter ), can actually be achieved. But why are we not progressing? Let's think about it. 25 more days before we fly, and some of us don't even know basic things such as tonguing and notes. How can this be?

Notes are secondary. Musicality is primary! Why can't the juniors feel that? They just play play and play. No feelings? Are they that emotionless? Or are they just thinking that performing is lame just like today and yesterday? You guys have to grow up and be more mature. Be disciplined and responsible by simply by knowing your notes and listening.

And you guys seriously think playing through and through helps? You could have just taken the time to improve your tone through long tones or lip flexibility through lip slurs. They don't take long to do. And I don't understand why you guys don't feel the urge to want to improve and perform? You think 25 days is a long time huh?

Not taking seniors words seriously. Turning a deaf ear to them? By traditions, this is punishable. But times have changed and the seniors just don't want to scold you if not necessary. Make everybody happy. Why are you taking their kindness for granted?

Yes. You can have fun sometimes. But when it's time to be serious, please do! Often joking around with your seniors outside doesn't mean that they are also joking around in practice. Some of you still talk back to your seniors! Is that basic respect? It works in a mutual relation. You respect the seniors, they do the same to you.

And please, is the stamina or endurance of your lips really that low? Play a few times only and you are tired. Yes, playing it many times may be tiring, but just take a short break. How does taking breaks of 30 mins and talking in between help you relax your lips? Hmm?

Stop thinking that if you can play the piece means you are done with it. What about details? Playing loud or soft. Short or long. These are the minor details which are important as they add colour to the songs. Like i said earlier, playing something over and over again does not help you AT ALL!

Please. Try and cooperate with your seniors and move towards greater standards together. Please. Or one day, someone is bound to flare up because of your attitude.Trumpets!
